Before we Begin.

This is actually a perfect venn diagram of the things that I’ve always wanted to talk about. I’ve definitely found a place working at startups, but it’s always for someone else’s dream and what is my dream?

I’ve been involved in a ton of leadership and mentorship and personal growth activities my whole life and I never had a clear idea of what I wanted to do, which is totally normal and has lead me to the career that I’m in now that I enjoy.

When I look back and think about the things that I wish I had done they are almost always times where I wish I could have learned more.

When listing out my goals from a young age they’ve been family, house, comfortable living, but getting to that end point in a very traditional way.

Great, that’s part of my story.

In college I studied Art History to see history through an artist’s lens. The idea of stepping into someone’s shoes and seeing and smelling and tasting a totally different time period has always been fascinating to me.

That’s part of my story.

I feel disappointed that NOW history is interesting? What are they doing in high school? I had the worst US Government teacher, He made it predictable and boring, it’s more than dates and names. It’s more complicated than good vs bad. There are people in these stories and I want to hear from them.

That’s a part too.

I always wanted to do something that was helping other people. Working for good and pushing the needle forward. What’s the context behind where we are right now as a country, who’s stories haven’t we heard? How could they help us?

That’s part of it.

So this brings me to First Ladies. Wives, Mothers, and Scholars just like me, just like you, just like us.

Let’s hear their stories.
